The Sharing Time project was funded as part of Brightlife’s ‘Bright Ideas’ strand. This fund encouraged local groups, voluntary organisations and businesses to come forward with ideas to reduce isolation and loneliness for older people within areas or communities of interest.
Sharing Time was a new project that aims to match an older person, who may be feeling isolated or lonely, with a volunteer who arranged a visit or a weekly internet call. The arrangement was based on friendship and is simply a case of two people spending time together for mutual benefit.
Sharing Time was delivered by Age UK Cheshire with an award of £18,101.
