About Us

Working together in Cheshire to reduce social isolation

Brightlife is an ambitious partnership working with local agencies from across the voluntary, public and private sector to reduce loneliness and social isolation amongst the over 50s in Cheshire West and Chester.

Our aim is to establish innovative and engaging projects, activities and networks that bring people together.

Central to the Brightlife model is the engagement of people over fifty in the design, delivery and evaluation of the programme.

Formed in April 2015 and with a scope of five years Brightlife is part of the Big Lottery’s Ageing Better Programme.

“Sometimes the best medicine is a good laugh in friendly company”

One of Brightlife’s flagship projects is its Social Prescribing Scheme which runs in three key areas: Chester (City), Winsford (Town) and Malpas (Village).

Acting as a link between formal healthcare services and the voluntary / community sector, the social prescribing scheme allows people who are vulnerable to loneliness to be referred into suitable activities and clubs in their local area.
